Run the installer
Choose the folder if you do not want the default one, accept the licence, and it installs for your user with a desktop and Start menu shortcut.

Set it up
First launch asks for your language, your company name and whether you manage stock in boxes or pallets. A short guided tour follows, once.

Enter your key
Paste the BI1- key from your purchase. It is checked on your computer, with no connection and no registration.
You need a key to use it: The installer is free, but after the first-run setup the application shows the activation screen and waits: there is no trial mode. Nothing is lost while you wait — activate whenever the key arrives and the setup you already did is still there.

Verify what you downloaded
Every release publishes the SHA-256 of its installer. Compare it before running the file — one line in PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\BasicInventory-Setup-1.0.3.exe -Algorithm SHA256
About the SmartScreen warning
The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may warn about an unrecognised publisher. That warning is about the missing certificate, not about the file: check the hash above, then choose More info → Run anyway.
Updates
New versions are offered inside the application and installed only when you say so. You can also skip a version, or check again at any time from Settings.
Buy it once. Use it for as long as it is useful.
The price rises every five licences sold and never comes back down. Whatever you pay today is what this copy cost, for good.
